GreenAxe 3D printed wood Guitar

Here’s a sneak preview of my first 3d printed wooden guitar. It’s printed through a binder jetting additive manufacturing process that uses wood sawdust and bio-epoxy by a company called #Forust. Could this represent a more sustainable future for the manufacture of high-end wooden products?

The design was done using a combination of #Solidworks and #nTopology and it contains a diamond TPMS lattice structure (a sexier version of a gyroid).

The guitar includes the following example specifications:

Neck

Warmoth Pro Warhead maple neck with rosewood fret board, 22 frets, 25 1/2" scale, 42.86mm (1 11/16") width, Graphtec nut, 6150 sized jumbo frets, 10-16" compound radius fret board, white inlay dots. Walnut logo inlay

Body

3D printed in wood sawdust and bio-epoxy by Forust, and sprayed with clear matt lacquer

Bridge

Schaller 3D-6, 6 String Flat Mount Bridge, Black

Pickups

Seymour Duncan hot-rodded pickups

Tuning heads

Gotoh SG510 Locking Tuners, black chrome

Controls

5 position Schaller Mehaswitch-P pickup select switch, 1 x Volume knob, 1 x Tone knob

Other

Schaller Strap Locks, Pure Tone multi-contact jack, Schaller knobs, D'Addario strings

Weight

Just over 4Kg, but next one already redesigned and should weigh around 3.5Kg
